Microsoft Windows 11 22H2 official release was recently pushed, however, Windows 11 and some Intel processors seem to have some compatibility issues that can cause blue screens.
In a Sept. 22 announcement, Microsoft said there are incompatibility issues with certain driver versions for Intel’s 11th generation Core processors and Intel Smart Sound Technology (Intel SST) on Windows 11.
Windows 11 devices with the affected Intel SST drivers may experience blue screen errors. The affected driver will be named Intel® Smart Sound Technology (Intel® SST) Audio Controller under System Devices in Device Manager with the file name IntcAudioBus.sys and the file version 10.29.0.5152 or 10.30.0.5152.
Only devices with both Intel 11th Generation Core processors and Intel SST driver version 10.29.0.5152 or 10.30.0.5152 are affected by this issue.
Microsoft says it has implemented a compatibility pause for devices with the affected Intel SST drivers installed to prevent the availability of Windows 11 version 22H2 or Windows 11 version 21H2 in order to safeguard the upgrade experience for users.
Users can resolve this by upgrading the Intel SST driver to version 10.30.00.5714 and higher or 10.29.00.5714 and higher.
