Since Microsoft launched Windows 11 last year, it has been very active in pushing upgrades for users.
In May of this year, Microsoft announced that Windows 11 was ready for widespread deployment. At the same time, Microsoft has been persuading Windows 10 21H1 users to upgrade to Win11 for the version that is about to end its service. And for those using Windows 8.1, Microsoft even urges users to upgrade to a new computer to enjoy all the benefits of Windows 11.
Now some foreign media have discovered that the company has launched a more radical Win11 recommendation strategy a few days ago. For example, the Windows 11 recommendation option appeared on the Windows Out of Box Experience (OOBE) interface of Windows 10 22H2. You can start it for the first time. Or upgrade Win11 in one step after a major update.
In the documentation for the new OOBE update (KB5020683), Microsoft states:
An out-of-band update was released on November 30, 2022, to improve Windows 10, versions 2004, 20H2, 21H1, 21H2, and 22H2 (OOBE). It offers eligible devices the option to upgrade to Windows 11 as part of the OOBE process. This update is only available if the OOBE update is installed.
This update applies to the following versions of the operating system:
"Windows 10, version 2004 (Home and Professional only) Windows 10, version 20H2 (Home and Pro editions only). Windows 10, version 21H1 (Home and Pro editions only) Windows 10, version 21H2 (Home and Pro editions only). Windows 10, version 22H2 (Home and Pro editions only)"
In order to receive this OOBE update, some Windows 10 editions need to meet some prerequisites:
