WinRAR official tweet on May 30, through a set of Meme illustrations, self-deprecating the company’s current dilemma after Microsoft’s native support for .rar files.
In this illustration, in the first picture, a dog wearing a hat sits at a table with a cup of tea on it, while the whole room is on fire; in the second picture, the dog says: “It’s okay, everything will be fine.
This is very much in line with WinRAR’s current situation, it was previously reported that Microsoft plans to release a Win11 update in September this year, allowing users to directly decompress tar, 7-zip, rar, gz and other compressed file formats.
Microsoft also plans to launch a compression feature in 2024 to create such compressed files without the help of third-party tools like WinRAR. This is a great threat to the subsequent development of WinRAR.
