Microsoft announced the merger of Azure Virtual Desktop and Windows 365 services, which will be headed by 21-year veteran Scott Manchester.

Scott Manchester has been the director of Windows 365 project management for nearly three years. And 10 years ago, Scott Manchester was the manager of Microsoft’s virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) group and was responsible for advancing Azure Virtual Desktop.
The combination of services is expected to accelerate sales of Azure Virtual Desktop and Windows 365 services. With sales of Azure Virtual Desktop showing an upward trend, Microsoft believes that now is an excellent time to catch up with competitors such as Citrix and Vmware.
Azure Virtual Desktop director Cam Wiedblatt posted on LinkedIn on Saturday that he no longer leads the Azure Virtual Desktop team. “This week is my last day working on the Azure Virtual Desktop team,” he said.
