Microsoft 365 is a productivity service of Microsoft. In addition to applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, there are also some applications developed specifically for the service. Today, Microsoft announced a slew of new features for Microsoft 365 free and paid users.
The service’s Edge and Chrome browser extensions now have a new look, according to a post on the Microsoft 365 blog. After installing these browser extensions, users can simply click on the Microsoft 365 icon on the taskbar and follow the More Docs link to see all the content created with these apps, such as Word documents and Excel sheets.
It is noticed that users who use the Windows version or Microsoft 365 applications accessed through the Microsoft365.com website can also use Microsoft Designer to generate AI applications to create new content. Additionally, Microsoft 365 has added a Clipchamp feature for video editing.
On the mobile side, the Microsoft 365 app for iOS now supports adding widgets for apps like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Notes, PDF, and Scan to the home screen of an Apple iPhone or iPad.
According to Microsoft:
Widgets take up minimal space on your iOS device's home screen and allow you to create content with just a single touch. The medium-sized widget allows you to create three types of content from your home screen. The large widget offers the most value, not only allowing you to create three types of content, but also to open recently used files with one click.
Microsoft plans to add lock screen widget support to these apps in the near future.
Finally, the Microsoft 365 app for Android adds support for the Clipper clipboard, allowing users to extract content from photos, videos, and apps.
Microsoft provides two access methods:
Via Clipboard Notifications, a sticky notification from the Microsoft 365 app that stays in your notification panel and enables you to extract images and text from your current screen with one tap.
With the clipboard floating icon, you can place it anywhere on the edge of the screen, and with a single tap, you can extract text and images from the screen without leaving the current content.
The feature is gradually rolling out to Microsoft 365 Android users, and the clipboard feature is not available on devices with Android work profiles.
