Microsoft 365 app 2302 update: resolving issues in Access, Outlook, Project and Word

Microsoft has released update 2302 for the current channel of Microsoft 365 Enterprise, Microsoft 365 Business, and the subscription versions of Project and Visio desktop applications. The major version number is 2302 and the internal version number is 16130.20306.

Resolved issues

Access

  • Resolves an error: 3155, ODBC – Insert message on linked table [table name] that users receive when inserting a new row into a linked SQL Server table with an INSERT trigger.

Outlook

  • Fixed an issue that caused users in Government Cloud Tenant to be unable to launch To-Do items in Outlook.
  • Fixes an issue that caused users to see an inaccurate count of the number of new notifications when opening the Notifications pane.

Project

  • Fixed an issue that caused the start date of a manually scheduled task to be later than its completion date when opening an XML file in Project.

Word

  • Fixed the error message “The last time I opened a file name it caused a serious error. Do you still want to open it?” in Word. This could occur when using templates to create Word documents through automation.

In addition, Microsoft has released the following security updates for Excel and Outlook.

  • CVE-2023-23398

Outlook

  • CVE-2023-23397

Microsoft cautions that features (and sometimes fixes) are sent to the current channel over a period of time, so if users are still experiencing any issues that have apparently been fixed, please also be patient and wait for the update to be pushed.
