MG Motor will launch a new electric vehicle in the European market, the MG4. This SUV comes in a stylish design and some bold colour options. It’ll be available in two variants with different battery capacities once available.
MG Motor has four electric and hybrid vehicles available on their website. Currently, the MG4 isn’t available on their website for purchase. This coming electric vehicle will use the flattest battery from SAIC Motor. It measures 110mm in height, this battery will be available in 51kWh and 64kWh at the launch of the SUV.
The two battery capacities support different driving ranges of 350km and 450km on a single charge. The company plans to follow through with the launch of more models under this line after some time. Models to follow will come with four-wheel drive, but the two that’ll initially launch will come with rear-wheel drive.
The batteries will produce a maximum output of 125kW and 150kW on the 51kWh and 64kWh respectively. Both variants will have a maximum speed of 160km/h on an acceleration reaching 100km/h in 8 seconds. The battery on this electric SUV uses what SAIC Motor calls a “One Pack” system. This will provide high integration, a long-lasting battery, and prevent overheating.
MG Motor promises to bring its most advanced technology to this electric SUV. Asides from the battery technology, there will also be some smart features within the car’s system. These technologies will enable over-the-air upgrades with quick fixes and upgrades to the car’s system.
This vehicle will launch in the fourth quarter of the year. The waiting period isn’t much considering that we are stepping into the third quarter of the year. Within this timeframe, MG Motor will perfect the MG4 and ready it for sale and delivery.
