At the PlayStation Showcase in May this year, Konami announced two works, “Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater” and “Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vo1.1”. The former is a complete remake of “Metal Gear Solid 3”, and the latter is a “classic collection” that includes the first three works in the series.

Previously, foreign media Nintendo Life reported that the full platform resolution of “Metal Gear Solid 2” and “Metal Gear Solid 3” included in the game collection is only 720P. However, Konami recently announced the specific performance of “Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1” on each platform, saying that all platforms except Switch handheld mode run at 1080P. The remastered version of the first-generation game is locked at 30 frames, and the second-generation and The third-generation remake can reach 60 frames on the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S platforms.
Although it was not as outrageous as the “all-platform 720P” claimed by foreign media in the early days, this somewhat insincere collection was still criticized by players.
“Metal Gear Solid: The Master Collection Vol. 1” will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch and PC platforms on October 24. The release date of the PS4 version will be announced at a later date.
