Mercedes-Benz launched a new generation of all-electric long-distance truck eActros 600, which has a battery capacity of more than 600kWh and a self-developed new high-efficiency electric drive axle, which can achieve a cruising range of 500 kilometers. Sales will begin this year, with mass production scheduled to begin in late 2024.
It is noted that the eActros 600 adopts the typical cab-forward design of European trucks and is equipped with two electric motors with a continuous output of 400 kW (536 horsepower) and three lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery packs with a total capacity of 621kWh. , matched with a four-speed gearbox, with a peak power of 600 kW.
The car can support the CSS charging standard with a charging rate of 400 kW and will also achieve megawatt-level charging. At a charging station with an output of about 1 megawatt, a vehicle can charge its battery from 20 to 80 percent in about 30 minutes.
The vehicle has a total towing weight of 88,185 pounds (40 tonnes) and is available in two chassis versions: 6×2 with a wheelbase of 181.1 inches (4600 mm) and 4×2 with a wheelbase of 157.4 inches (4000 mm).
Mercedes-Benz is currently building a fleet of around 50 prototypes, some of which will be delivered to the first customers for real-life testing in the next phase.
