Mercedes-Benz China recalls 1,161 imported S-Class cars over leaky dash panel seal

It is learned from the official website of the State Administration for Market Regulation that Mercedes-Benz (China) Automobile Sales Co., Ltd., in accordance with the “Defective Auto Product Recall Management Regulations” and the “Defective Auto Product Recall Management According to the requirements of the Measures for the Implementation of the Regulations, the recall plan was filed with the State Administration for Market Regulation. Starting from June 26, 2023, a total of 1,161 imported S-class cars with a production date between April 3, 2020 and February 4, 2021 will be recalled.

Some vehicles within the scope of this recall are not tightly sealed due to the front panel, and accumulated water may seep into the interior of the vehicle, causing corrosion or short circuit of the preventive safety system (Pre-Safe) wiring harness in the vehicle. In extreme cases, the seat belt tensioner and seat adjustment cannot work normally, which increases the risk of collision and injury for drivers and passengers, posing safety hazards.

Mercedes-Benz (China) Automobile Sales Co., Ltd. will reseal the front panel of the recalled vehicles free of charge through authorized Mercedes-Benz dealers to eliminate potential safety hazards.

Mercedes-Benz (China) Automobile Sales Co., Ltd. will notify the owners of the recall by registered mail or other means.
