Media player VLC has recently been updated to version 3.4.0, introducing a new audio playback UI, adding Handoff Ethernet support for Wi-Fi Sharing, and adding support for Apple CarPlay.

VLC is a free, liberal and open-source cross-platform multimedia player.
It can play most formats of video and audio directly, without prior conversion.
It supports syncing files via Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, Box, iCloud Drive, iTunes, direct download links, WiFi sharing, etc. It can also directly play SMB, FTP, SFTP, NFS, UPnP/DLNA media servers and stream media from the Internet.
VLC also supports advanced subtitle formats (including full compatibility with SSA), multi-track audio, playback speed control, and Chromecast rendering.
