Recently, according to overseas media, the Mercedes-Maybach Ultimate Luxury Concept Car will not be mass-produced. The car was officially released at the 2018 Beijing Auto Show. It was originally planned to launch a mass production version in 2025 and only be available in the Chinese market. It adopts a crossover shape between an SUV and a sedan, and is officially defined as a SUS (Sports Utility Sedan). The official did not disclose the reason for its cancellation, but it is speculated that it is most likely due to concerns about cost and sales.
Although it was a concept car released at the time, its appearance was actually very close to the mass-produced style. The large-mouth grille combined with the straight waterfall-style vertical strip decoration is very Maybach style. The body shape adopts the style of a three-box SUV, which is very rare. Its body dimensions are 5260/2108mm/1778mm respectively.
In terms of interiors, the center console is still designed with two 12.3-inch dual screens, which was also Mercedes-Benz’s latest family-style interior style at the time. The interior materials use a large number of high-end leather, wood materials and rose gold for decoration, and combined with the chrome-plated steering wheel, it is very luxurious. In addition, the car adopts a four-seater layout, with a tea table in the back, and also has the “Heart Refreshing” function on the S-class (through the air-conditioning system, linked ambient lighting and fragrance and seat massage functions, so that the driver and passengers can enjoy exclusive comfortable driving experience).
In terms of power, the concept car was originally planned to be produced on the EVA2 platform. It will be equipped with a four-wheel drive system and four motors capable of outputting 760 horsepower (559kW). The car is also equipped with an 80kWh battery pack, with a pure electric range of up to 550km.
