According to a British Autocar report, Maserati’s new-generation Quattroporte EV president sedan will be based on the same electric platform as Granturismo. Given that Granturismo offers both EV and ICE forms, the new car is also expected to be available in a conventionally powered version of the new Quattroporte.
According to reports, the Maserati Quattroporte electric model will use the same Folgore nameplate as the Granturismo and Grecale EV versions. Folgore means lightning in Italian.
In addition to the Folgore models of the Quattroporte, Granturismo and Grecale, Maserati also plans to launch an all-electric version of its flagship MC20 supercar. According to reports, the MC20 Folgore will have three engines and, like the gas car, will arrive as a coupe or convertible.
Foreign media speculate that the Quattroporte EV may use the same 105 kWh battery pack as the Grecale Folgore, but Granturismo’s 92.5 kWh battery pack is also a possibility, considering that the two models will share the same chassis, perhaps the latter is more likely.
In terms of power, the AWD version of the new car is expected to achieve a performance of more than 500 hp, which may also be on par with the Porsche Taycan Turbo S.
In terms of cruising range, foreign media expect the Quattroporte EV to be between the Grecale Folgore (300+ miles) and the Granturismo Folgore (279 miles).
