Sony has added game support for Dolby Atmos in the latest PS5 system version update it recently pushed. It was previously reported that Sony has previously stated that any headphones, stereo TV speakers, All 5.1/7.1 channel audio systems can use this Dolby Atmos system.
Recently, when answering questions from fans, the community and marketing director of Insomnia Group confirmed that the cutscenes in the new game “Marvel’s Spider-Man 2” use Dolby Atmos original sound mixing technology, so this game will be the first batch of PS5 platforms to natively support Dolby One of the games with Atmos technology. However, it is still unknown whether the actual game experience natively supports this technology.
In addition, Insomnia Group technical director Mike Fitzgerald also talked about some of the progress in 3D sound effects in a recent interview with IGN.
Mike Fitzgerald claims that they’re using ambisonics and positional audio in a “new way” to handle the ambient sound of more objects in a scene, with better results than in past games.

“Marvel’s Spider-Man 2” will be launched on the PS5 platform on October 20. The regular version of the game is priced at 568 Hong Kong dollars and the deluxe version is priced at 628 Hong Kong dollars.
