HPE executive Neil MacDonald said the company is the first major manufacturer in the server industry to officially bet on Arm architecture products, which is called ProLiant RL300 Gen11. The server is scheduled to start shipping in March this year.

MacDonald introduced that the server will be oriented to mainstream cloud computing business scenarios, provide low-power scalable solutions, and will form a synergy with the company’s existing X86 architecture servers, which are mainly oriented to the traditional enterprise IT market.

Public information shows that Ampere’s Arm architecture CPUs are also currently being used by public cloud vendors such as Microsoft and Oracle.
