Lunar Mission Artemis 1 Release Benefit: Global Live Streaming of Your Sent Messages on iPad

“Artemis 1” is a key mission for a human return to the moon, but in this mission, all humans can get a benefit: send a message to the iPad stationed in the Orion spacecraft.

NASA is specially equipped with a camera for live streaming of information received on the iPad, so that you can pass on the information to others living on Earth in this way.

An important mission of “Artemis 1” is the unmanned testing of the SLS rocket and Orion spacecraft. And the Orion spacecraft was equipped with this iPad during a demonstration of Callisto technology, which is designed to test human-computer interfaces in space.

The hardware itself is relatively simple – it’s basically an iPad. but it’s not Siri they’re testing – it’s actually Amazon’s Alexa. iPad is just a more suitable piece of hardware to test. The goal is to see how a digital assistant like Alexa can make the lives of astronauts easier and more productive during deep space travel. They will also test Cisco’s Webex for audio and video calls.

Sending messages within Orion to be displayed on the iPad is simple, but may not be selected. Lockheed Martin – which is conducting the experiment – has the final say on which messages are and are not displayed.

Submitting information to be displayed on the iPad is as simple as going to the Callisto website and scrolling down to the “Send a message to Callisto” section. You can enter your message (up to 120 characters) as well as your name and email. If selected, your message and name will be displayed on the Orion spacecraft during this historic Artemis 1 mission.
