According to the latest report released today by the screen supply chain consulting company DSCC, the cost of low-temperature polycrystalline oxide (LTPO) is $8 higher than that of low-temperature polysilicon (LTPS) (currently about 55 CNY), and the cost of the panel is 10 dollars higher (the current price is about 69 CNY).
LTPS uses laser heating to generate polysilicon, while LTPO increases the oxidation process, so the cost is more expensive. For consumers, the biggest advantage of LTPO is that it supports a dynamic refresh rate, which can be adjusted in the range of 1-120Hz according to the usage scenario.
For specific models, Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus and Galaxy S23 Plus use LTPS TFT; while Galaxy S23 Ultra, iPhone 14 Pro Max and other models use LTPO TFT panels.
