Logitech names Hanneke Faber as new CEO

PC peripheral manufacturer Logitech International appointed Hanneke Faber as its new chief executive officer (CEO) on Monday, effective December 1.

According to Logitech officials, Hanneke has more than 30 years of global business leadership experience in a variety of consumer products, B2B and e-commerce businesses. She drove multi-billion dollar business growth and major transformations at three companies: Unilever, Ahold Delhaize and Procter & Gamble.

Hanneke joins Logitech from Unilever where he served as group president, leading the $14 billion nutrition business. Her responsibilities span more than 150 countries and include global brands, R&D, the B2B Unilever Food Solutions business and the supply chain of approximately 60 factories and contract manufacturers globally.

Logitech’s last CEO, Bracken Darrell, left in June to join Vans sneaker maker VF Corp, and Logitech said last week it was close to finding a new CEO.

Logitech also raised its full-year forecast after growing profits and slowing sales declines in the second quarter ended Sept. 30.

In September, Logitech co-founder Daniel Borel called for the company to find a new chairman, objecting to Wendy Becker continuing in the role, saying Logitech had lost its way under Becker’s leadership.

According to Logitech’s second quarter financial report, the company’s cumulative revenue in the first six months was US$2.032 billion and cumulative revenue in the same period last year was US$2.309 billion, a year-on-year decrease 12.01%.

Logitech’s cumulative net profit in the first six months was US$200 million and the cumulative net profit in the same period last year was US$183 million, a year-on-year increase of 9.25%.
