For technical reasons, starting from LineageOS 19, they began to provide the AOSP default camera application Camera2, but the default application experience is very poor, and it cannot meet the needs of users.
Therefore, in this LineageOS version, LineageOS has launched a new CameraX camera application called Aperture, which has greatly improved the imaging level compared to the previous version.
Aperture implements several features that Camera2 lacks, such as:
Secondary lens support
Video frame rate control
EIS (Electronic Image Stabilization) and OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) are fully set
spirit level
LineageOS 20 also brings many new features and enhancements, such as merging April 2022 to December 2022 security patches into LineageOS 17.1 to 20, WebView update to Chromium 108.0. The volume panel also supports global quick setting of lighting modes, etc.
In addition, the new version optimizes and upgrades the calendar, photo album, recording, browser, system update, Android TV, setup wizard, etc., and the adb_root service is no longer associated with the build type property, which is better compatible with third parties ROOT system.
The new system merge script has been overhauled, greatly simplifying the process of merging Android security bulletins and making native system devices such as Pixel more streamlined.
