Lincoln Motors’ latest announcement hints at the Ford-owned company’s plan to shape a future for itself that is clean and electric. Using the milestone of its centennial year in the automobile industry, the company unveiled an all-electric SUV concept called the “Star” that seems to mark the start of its mission of releasing four new EVs by the end of 2026. This Lincoln line-up would make old-timers feel like this grizzled and once reigning American luxury brand is reinventing itself for an electrifying future.
Lincoln Star SUV concept features
The Lincoln Star SUV EV concept testifies to the company’s move towards experimenting with new design and technology. And this is very much evident even before one steps into the car. The exterior is nothing like what we have seen as yet from Lincoln Motors.
The Panoramic glass roof and windows, headlights and taillights that span the entire width of the car build up an ultra-modern look for the car. It has a smooth exterior look given that the headlights and taillights are the only parts of the car that feature any sharp edges.
As one steps in, the company offers the entire repertoire of instruments and infotainment boards that have started to become commonplace in this sector of automobiles. Owners would get a bang out of the front seats’ ability to swivel and face the rear seats to make up for a lounge-like feel.
The owner’s spirits would further be swivelled into different moods. It offers three options: Coastal Morning, Mindful Vitality, and Evening Chill, which change the audio, lighting, and even smell of the car’s cabin.
The Lincoln Star SUV concept’s battery and motor have been judiciously tucked away beneath the cabin. It is done to create enough room below the hood. Speaking of extra room, the steering wheel retracts to be stowed away.
All in all, the Lincoln Star SUV concept seems to hold the potential to help the company gain the traction that it has been struggling for in recent years.
