weird monitor form-factor was on display at the CES 2022 on the LG DualUp monitor. Unlike regular monitors, this one from LG features an almost square design. It comes with an aspect ratio of 16:18 which isn’t common with monitors. This device is available for purchase now at a retail price of 4,697 yuan (~$699).

This monitor comes with a 28-inch screen Nano IPS panel and supports HDR10. Although the LG DualUp has a 16:18 aspect ratio and a resolution of 2560×2880, this monitor is usable. Its resolution spans the full length of two monitors stacked on top of each other. That is exactly the form factor of this monitor.

Although this monitor is as tall as two regular monitors put on top of each other, it has no barricade. The bezels run around its sides, with no bezel in-between the display. With this square-like display, using more than one application at the same time without crowding the display is possible. The DualUp setup is ideal for developers and designers looking for a dual-screen setup that doesn’t use too much space.

Other features of this monitor are its Type-C interface, HDMI, Display Port, and USB 3.0 interfaces for connectivity. It also uses the ultra-adjustable LG Ergo bracket supporting lifting, tilting, rotating, and swinging movements of the monitor. To firmly grip the table it’d stand on, the DualUp comes with a C-Clamp and Grommet to firmly mount the desk without shaking.

The LG DualUp is a proud winner of the CES 2022 Creativity Award. At launch, this monitor wasn’t available for purchase, but it is currently rolling out for sale. Its retail price is 4,697 yuan (~$699), and it is currently available for sale on the LG official website.
