Lexar has just announced the Lexar Professional NM800PRO, a PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe SSD in the M.2 2280 standard form factor designed for hardcore gamers, professionals and creators who need high-performance computing. In addition, Lexar offers a stock heatsink option for the NM800PRO to ensure long and stable operation at high speeds.
Unlike traditional HDDs, solid state drives (SSDs) have no moving mechanical parts, resulting in higher shock/vibration/reliability characteristics.
With a 12nm host controller and preferred NAND flash memory, the Lexar Professional NM800PRO M.2 2280 NVMe SSD achieves sequential read and write rates of 7500 and 6500 MB/s.
PCIe 4.0 x4 interface / NVMe 1.4 protocol support allows users to experience double the performance experience of PCIe 3.0 / NVMe 1.3 (and 12x the performance of SATA SSDs).
The lower power consumption also helps extend the battery life of mobile devices while meeting the demands of high-performance computing.
With the optional SKU that comes with a heat sink, gamers can easily balance performance and heat on PlayStation 5 consoles/PCs.
In terms of capacity, the Lexar Professional NM800PRO is available in 512GB / 1TB / 2TB options.
