Lenovo ThinkPhone by Motorola released: equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip

Lenovo ThinkPhone has been unveiled, which is a smartphone made by Motorola that looks like a Lenovo ThinkPad laptop.

The ThinkPhone is equipped with a 6.6-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2400×1080 and a refresh rate of 144Hz. The screen also offers HDR10+ support.

The ThinkPhone comes with a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip, 8GB or 12GB of RAM, and 128GB, 256GB or 512GB of storage.

The ThinkPhone is available in charcoal black and has special red keys that can be customized to perform different tasks – open the Walkie Talkie app via Microsoft Teams or open business or field applications. The back panel is designed with lightweight aramid fiber, while the frame is made of aerospace-grade aluminum. The front is covered with Gorilla Glass Victus. Special ThinkPhone logo on the back.

The ThinkPhone is also IP68 and MIL-STD 810H certified, so it can withstand a drop from 1.25 meters and a 30-minute swim in 1.5 meters of water.

The Motorola ThinkPhone has a built-in 5000mAh battery that supports 68W wired charging and 15W wireless charging. The required wired charger is included in the box.

In terms of cameras, the ThinkPhone features a 50MP f/1.8 main camera with four pixels in one, resulting in a 2.0μm pixel size. The camera supports both PDAF phase detection autofocus and OIS optical image stabilization. There’s also a 13MP f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle lens for macro shots. The front of the machine supports a 32MP selfie camera with an autofocus function.

ThinkPhone isn’t just new branding, it’s getting integration with Lenovo’s ThinkPad laptops, including the Motorola Ready For-based Think Connect. Allows you to sync ThinkPhone to ThinkPad and transfer copied text, photos, documents and drag and drop files, share notifications, use your phone as a webcam and open any Android application on the screen of your Windows laptop.

The ThinkPhone will come with Microsoft 365, Outlook and Teams apps pre-installed.

Moto KeySafe adds a layer of security on its own – keeping PINs and passwords, encryption keys and other sensitive data in a tamper-resistant environment.

Finally, Moto OEMConfig or Moto Device Manager will allow IT administrators to remotely configure ThinkPhone for corporate customers.

The Motorola ThinkPhone will be available in the US, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, Australia and select Asian countries in the coming months. Lenovo hasn’t revealed a price yet, but since it’s a B2B, it’s primarily a business-oriented device.
