Lenovo released the ThinkPad Z13 Gen 2 and ThinkPad Z16 Gen 2 at the MWC 2023 exhibition. One of the highlights that haven’t been mentioned yet is Lenovo’s partnership with Sensel to equip it with the first true touchpad with full Sensel technology, providing sensitive touch sensing, force sensing and haptic feedback features.
Sensel’s touch panels have been featured in the Surface Laptop Studio and earlier Lenovo products. During Sensel’s B round of financing in 2022, Lenovo invested US$18.8 million in it (currently about 131 million CNY).
Sensel’s touch panels are at the forefront of Windows laptops and have previously been used in the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Titanium Yoga, Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio and Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold 16.
Lenovo announced at MWC 2023 that the ThinkPad Z series also uses Sensel’s “full stack” (full stack) technology FusionUX. The Sensel touch panel on ThinkPad Z13 Gen 2 and ThinkPad Z16 Gen 2 features high-fidelity haptics, palm rejection, and high accuracy.
The ThinkPad Z13, which will be launched in July, starts at $1,249 (currently about 8,693 CNY), while the ThinkPad Z16 will be launched in August with a starting price of $1,749 (currently about 12,173 CNY).
