According to foreign media AutoCar, Land Rover will launch a long-awaited “Baby Guard” plan in the future, which will bring Land Rover’s “Defender” brand into new market segments. Foreign media said that the size of the Defender Sport is expected to be in the range of 4.6 meters x 2 meters x 1.8 meters. Since it is positioned as a “baby guard”, its size is much smaller than that of the Defender. However, Land Rover said that despite the smaller profile, the car will still have the “sense of activation and action” that the Defender has inherited, and that “even the smallest model will embody the rugged spirit that the Defender is known for”.

Foreign media also believe that the positioning of “Baby Guard” will be “more focused on road driving”, but Land Rover is likely to provide a set of outdoor-themed expansion kits for this model. Note: about 287,700 CNY).
In addition, foreign media also stated that this Defender Sport is expected to be built on the new EMA electric platform with the next-generation Range Rover Evoque and Range Rover Velar, which will be equipped with an 800V charging architecture with a peak power of 350 kW , designed to accommodate advanced battery and propulsion technologies, making models based on the platform more competitive in the increasingly crowded mid-size SUV segment, with a “rugged and durable” quality.
