As the successor to the PCIe 3.0 era NV1 series of M.2 NVMe SSDs, Kingston has just released the NV2 series of PCIe 4.0 entry-level products with upgraded main controls. Despite the fact that the NV1 series has received numerous complaints about its mediocre specifications compared to models like the A2000, the company still seems to have a high level of confidence in its brand appeal in the consumer market.

The Kingston NV2 series is said to use the standard M.2 2280 form factor. While it may not be able to take full advantage of the theoretical bandwidth of PCIe 4.0 x4, the sequential read and write performance of 3000 and 1300 MB/s is still able to meet the needs of the average consumer.

In terms of capacity, the NV2 series offers 250GB / 500GB / 1TB / 2TB in four grades with nominal write endurance of 80 / 160 / 320 / 640 TBW, but the company did not disclose the exact master + NAND flash combination.

Referring to the configuration of the NV1 series, the NV2 series, which uses a cache-less solution, should also be paired with entry-level 3D QLC NAND flash memory, and the company offers a three-year limited warranty for the PCIe 4.0 M.2 NVMe SSDs in this series.
