It was previously reported that on March 20, 2023, Kia held the 2023 Kia China New Energy Strategy Conference, where the medium-sized pure electric SUV EV5 concept car and the medium-to-large pure electric flagship SUV EV9 and EV6 GT were unveiled together.
Kia EV5 adopts Kia’s brand-new design style. The design inspiration comes from the concept of “unity of opposites” like EV6, and the lines of the whole vehicle are straight and sharp. It is worth mentioning that the new car adopts a split door design, and the seats and interior door panels are made of various environmentally friendly materials such as seaweed extract and recycled plastics. The right seats in the front and rear rows support 90-degree rotation. In terms of power, the maximum cruising range of the new car will exceed 700 kilometres, and it will also provide V2L external discharge function.
According to Kia’s official introduction, Kia EV5 is known as a “tailor-made for Chinese users, and it is Kia’s first global model produced in China and launched in China”.
Starting this year, Kia will launch at least one new car based on the E-GMP pure electric platform in China every year and will launch a total of 6 pure electric models by 2027, and strive to achieve annual sales of 180,000 pure electric vehicles by 2030
