Kia will launch two new cars in the second half of this year: one is the pure electric coupe EV6 which has already opened blind orders and will be launched in August, and the other is the EV6 that was previously unveiled at the Shanghai Auto Show. The domestic version of the Kia EV5 has been declared by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The size of the new car is 4615 1875 1715mm, and the wheelbase is 2750mm. It is equipped with a BYD Fudi lithium iron phosphate battery and a 160kW Vitesco motor or will continue to use the 800V platform of the overseas version.

In other respects, the front suspension of this model adopts MacPherson independent suspension, the rear suspension adopts multi-link independent suspension and the braking system adopts hydraulic brake and electric power steering.

The new car adopts a side-by-side door design, and the seats and interior door panels are made of seaweed extracts, recycled plastics and other environmentally friendly materials. The right seats in the front and rear rows support 90-degree rotation.
With reference to overseas models, the maximum cruising range of the new car will exceed 700 kilometres, and it will also provide V2L external discharge function.


According to Kia’s official introduction, Kia EV5 is known as a “tailor-made for Chinese users, and it is Kia’s first global model produced in China and launched in China”.
