Kia’s EV5 export model started mass production at the 4.0 smart manufacturing factory in Yancheng, Jiangsu. It is reported that the new car will be exported to Australia and other countries. As a strategic model specially launched by Kia to celebrate its 80th anniversary, EV5 not only made its debut in China, but was also produced at a smart factory in Yancheng and sold to other markets around the world.
Kia EV5 is Kia China’s first domestically produced pure electric model, positioned as a compact SUV. There are currently 6 models on sale, with a price range of 149,800-225,800 RMB. The car is built on Kia’s dedicated electric vehicle platform E-GMP.
Kia EV5 continues the design of the concept version in terms of styling, adopting Kia’s new design concept of “Opposites United”. Details such as the unique headlights have been continued, making it highly recognizable. In terms of battery life, the domestic market currently offers 530km and 720km battery life versions.
In addition to promoting the overseas export of EV5, this year, Kia has also added new export models such as Sonet, K5, and Shiba Extension. The export countries will also increase from more than 50 countries in the Middle East, Asia-Pacific, Central and South America, etc. to more than 80 countries. Stabilize the development pattern of “domestic sales and export sales go hand in hand”.
