Cologne show, Kawasaki first showed the Ninja Z e-1 Electric Motorcycle, followed by the Ninja e-1 electric Motorcycle in November’s Milan show, and announced that the two bikes will be available in 2023. Recently, Kawasaki declared the certification information for both bikes in Australia.
The two electric motorcycles offer performance equivalent to a 125cc gasoline motorcycle and have removable battery packs and e-boost power enhancement. The new bikes will soon be available in the US and Australia.
According to the certification information, Kawasaki’s Ninja e-1 and Z e-1 will both be powered by 9kW (continuous power) motors with two battery packs totaling 3kWh. The two battery packs are removable and weigh a total of about 24kg. the overall weights of the Ninja E-1 and Z e-1 will be 139kg and 135kg, respectively.
The two electric motorcycles look similar to their petrol counterparts. the Ninja e-1 has a sharp front end, fitted with split LED headlamps and a clear windshield. the Z e-1 looks more compact, with some similarities to the Z400. They both have split seats, alloy wheels, front forks and single shock absorbers. The brakes are discs front and rear.
In a previously leaked image, the two electric motorcycles can also be seen to have a TFT screen that displays two separate battery levels, come with an E-Boost mode that briefly boosts performance when turned on, and a Walking Mode that allows you to move the vehicle slowly.
