The passenger association today released the national passenger car market analysis report in June 2022, data show that June 2022 passenger car market retail sales reached 1.943 million units, up 22.6% year-on-year, 43.5% year-on-year growth, June retail sales growth rate in the same period in the past six years the highest value in history.
The total retail sales from January to June were 9.261 million units, down 7.2% year-on-year and down 715,000 units year-on-year, with a year-on-year decline of 1.031 million units from March to May.
In June, wholesale sales of new energy passenger cars reached 571,000 units, up 141.4% year-on-year and 35.3% YoY, and under the policy of halving the vehicle purchase tax, new energy vehicles were not only unaffected, but also improved more than expected YoY. 2.467 million new energy passenger cars were sold wholesale from January to June, up 122.9% YoY.
Domestic retail sales of new energy passenger vehicles reached 532,000 units in June, up 130.8% year-on-year and 47.6% sequentially, forming a “W-shaped” trend from January to June. 2.248 million units of new energy passenger vehicles were retailed from January to June, up 122.5% year-on-year.
In June, the penetration rate of domestic retail sales of new energy vehicles was 27.4%, an increase of 12.8 percentage points compared to the penetration rate of 14.6% in June 2021.
IT House learned that in June, pure electric wholesale sales of 452,000 units, up 131.1% year-on-year; plug-in hybrid sales of 119,000 units, up 191.1% year-on-year. June B-class electric car sales increased 146.0% year-on-year, 81% year-on-year, accounting for 30.0% of the pure electric share.
The “dumbbell” structure of the pure electric market has improved, with A00-class wholesale sales of 122,000 units, up 15.0% YoY, accounting for 27.0% of pure electric; A0-class wholesale sales of 73,000 units, accounting for 16.0% of pure electric; A-class electric vehicles accounting for 24.0% of pure electric; and B-class electric vehicles taking the lead. In June, 52,557 Tesla Model Y units and 46,249 Wuling Hongguang MINI units were sold in the top two positions of overall passenger car sales.
The new energy passenger car market hit a record high in June, with BYD’s dual drive pure electric and plug-in hybrid solidifying the new energy leadership of independent brands. There are 16 companies whose wholesale sales exceeded 10,000 units (3 more than the previous month and 11 more than the previous year), accounting for 85% of the total number of new energy passenger cars.
Among them: BYD 133,762 units, Tesla China 78,906 units, SAIC-GM-Wuling 49,450 units, Geely Automobile 29,671 units, GAC-EAN 24,109 units, Chery Automobile 22,783 units, SAIC Passenger Vehicle 17,985 units, Changan Automobile 16,178 units, Xiaopeng Automobile 15,295 units, SAIC-VW 13,241 units, Nezha 13,157 units, RISO 13,024 units, Azera 12,961 units, Great Wall Motor 13,917 units, FAW-Volkswagen 12,272 units, and Zero Running 11,259 units.
In June, 31,000 units of new energy passenger cars were exported. With the policy support for resuming work and production under the epidemic, the continuous improvement of overseas recognition of new energy products made in China and the improvement of service network, the market outlook is positive.
