Sensor Tower data shows that in June 2022, a total of 38 Chinese manufacturers were included in the Top 100 global mobile game publishers’ revenue list, with a combined total of more than $2 billion (about RMB 13.4 billion), accounting for nearly 40% of the global Top 100 mobile game publishers’ revenue.

It should be noted that this data only counts the revenue of publishers, and does not include the third-party Android channels in China, and is the global App Store and Google Play revenue ranking.

The top 15 publishers on the list are: Tencent, Netease, MihaYu, Fun Plus, Sanji Mutual Entertainment, Rhinoceros Mutual Entertainment, Lilith, IM30, Shellwood Games, Thunder Games, Jiang Entertainment Interactive, Le Element, Youta Games, IGG, and Mu Pupil Technology.

The report notes that despite the slight delay in the launch of version 2.7, it did not affect another round of revenue peaks for “Original Gods”, which saw mobile revenue increase 56% in June, with MihaYu’s revenue growing 42% accordingly, returning to the top 5 of global mobile game publishers.

In addition, Sensor Tower said that Beeper launched the Korean and English versions of Mobile Battle Princess in mid-June, which, together with the Japanese and traditional Chinese versions, made the game the highest-grossing handheld product of the publisher in the period. In the domestic market, the 3D horizontal fighting game “Time Hunter 3”, which was released at the end of June, successfully ranked among the top 10 iOS mobile games in China. Driven by a number of games, publishers’ revenue surged 61% year-over-year and returned to the 23rd place in China’s mobile game publishers’ revenue list.

In terms of China App Store handheld game revenue, “Glory of Kings”, “Peace Elite”, “Original God”, “Fantasy West”, “Three Kingdoms・Strategy Edition” and “League of Legends Handheld” ranked in the top five. Other fast-growing handheld games in the Chinese iOS market during this period were “Battle of Golden Shovel” and “Love of Light and Night”.
