Jidu’s first mass-produced car ROBO-01 preview: lift lidar is removed

Following last week’s official announcement of its cooperation with China’s lunar exploration, on September 15, Jidu Automobile revealed a new set of official pictures of the limited edition of the ROBO-01 lunar exploration. Several official photos of the mass-produced car released this time include the front face, the slanted rear, and the slanted body and other angles, which highly restore the shape of the concept car.

From the front face, the ROBO-01 Moon Probe Limited Edition has a very technological sense. The closed front face integrates AI pixel lights, which can interact with external traffic participants through the light language.

However, unlike the concept car, the production version cancels the lift lidar displayed by the concept car, and presumably puts it at the front of the car, that is, at the bottom of the headlights on both sides, and also cancels the previously displayed electronic exterior mirrors. Use traditional styles instead.

The most conspicuous parts of the body are the light gold decorative strips and the lunar probe logo, which show the identity and specialty of the car. With the large-sized multi-spoke wheels and blackened wheel eyebrows, it creates a good sports atmosphere. .

The design of the rear of the car is very simple, with a penetrating tail light strip and AI pixel lights, which can echo the light group at the front of the car, while the lift tail and spoiler are completely preserved, which enhances its performance and dynamic.

What is of concern is that the detailed picture does not show how the door of the car is opened. You must know that on the concept car, the first car of Jidu uses the design of a “scissor door” and “no B-pillar”. Will the version be preserved?

It is understood that Jidu ROBO-01 is produced from Geely’s vast SEA pure electric platform. It has L4-level autonomous driving capabilities, can move autonomously, and can communicate with people naturally. Based on AI and big data technology, this “automotive robot” “will have the ability to continuously learn and evolve by itself.
