Jambulon Electronics today announced that since JEDEC released the new UFS 3.1 standard in 2020, Jambulon’s embedded storage team has been heavily involved in R&D testing. After 2 years, Jambulon successfully launched FORESEE UFS 3.1 protocol version, which is currently in the sample testing and verification stage.

According to the introduction, UFS 3.1, the new generation flagship product of FORESEE embedded storage, has significantly optimized performance and transfer latency, with write speed up to 1200MB/s, which is nearly 3 times faster than the previous generation of general-purpose flash storage. In addition, UFS 3.1 can meet the requirements of instant boot, fast boot, multitasking and other functions, shorten the waiting time for application loading, and speed up and reduce the burden for 5G mobile devices.

FORESEE UFS 3.1 is currently available in 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB capacities and is designed to be compressed to a maximum thickness of 1.0mm for use in flagship smartphone models, tablets, AR/VR, high-speed smart cameras, smart cars, and 5G IoT devices.

According to the official specifications, FORESEE UFS 3.1 offers sequential read speeds of up to 2.05GB/s and sequential write speeds of up to 1.2GB/s, a 1.4x improvement over UFS 2.2; random reads of up to 150K IPOS and random writes of up to 140K IOPS; bandwidth speeds of up to 2.9GB/s; and the ability to operate at -25°C to 85°C.

In addition, FORESEE UFS 3.1 has developed its own firmware features such as write enhancement, low power management, intelligent temperature control, and host performance enhancer.

IT Home has learned that Jiang Bolong revealed that FORESEE vehicle-grade UFS will be launched this year.
