Jaguar Land Rover says the new AI technology will allow it to monitor supply chains in real-time and protect the production of its current models and next-generation electric vehicles (EVs). The company emphasized that Everstream’s technology has enabled it to avoid the risk of vehicle delivery disruptions at cargo ports around the world.
“By partnering with Everstream Analytics, we are harnessing the power of AI to proactively manage risk before production is disrupted,” Jaguar Land Rover executive director of industrial operations Barbara Bergmeier said in a statement. The technology uses a combination of AI, predictive analytics, Machine learning and human intuition to map emerging risk events such as natural disasters, strikes, data breaches and export issues on a world map.
It was previously reported that as a subsidiary of India’s Tata Motors, Jaguar Land Rover was hit particularly hard by the global shortage of semiconductor chips and was forced to cut production of some models at one point. But the company has returned to profitability in the past two quarters, accounting for two-thirds of Tata’s total revenue in the most recent quarter.
