iPhone 16 Pro series and Huawei’s new phones are considering using glass G+P solution

According to @digitalchatstation, Apple’s new iPhone 16 Pro series is considering using 1MG+7P molded glass-plastic modules, and it is confirmed that it will use 1/1.14″± super outsole + periscope Super telephoto combination.

At the same time, he also mentioned that Huawei is also considering using this G+P glass solution with stronger optical performance.

Note: G and P refer to the ratio of glass and plastic lenses. 1MG+7P here refers to one molded glass lens + seven plastic lenses. In fact, Largan Chairman Lin Enping revealed last year that some customers’ flagship phones in 2024 will introduce 1MG+6P or 7P solutions, and predicted that this hybrid lens design will become one of the future lens indicator trends.

According to @digitalchatstation, @iiceuniverse and others, Apple has customized a 48-megapixel 1/1.14″ IMX 903 sensor with a unit pixel of 1.22μm through Sony. Not surprisingly, it is exclusive to the Pro series.

According to existing leaks, Apple’s iPhone 16 Pro (codenamed Diablo) will be equipped with a 6.3-inch screen (15 is 6.1 inches); iPhone 16 Pro Max (codenamed Lightning) is 6.9 inches (15 is 6.7 inches).

Ming-Chi Kuo pointed out that Apple’s iPhone 16 Pro model will receive a major image upgrade, equipped with two 48MP sensors for the first time, while the telephoto lens will still be 12MP. In addition, Ming-Chi Kuo also revealed that the iPhone 16 Pro will continue to use the bi-folding quadrilateral telephoto lens of the iPhone 15 Pro Max, while the front cameras of the iPhone 17 series models will also be upgraded, using a 24MP sensor and a 6P lens.

Ming-Chi Kuo also mentioned last year that Apple plans to switch to a stacked rear camera sensor design for the entire iPhone 16 series. The relevant sensor is manufactured by Sony and is expected to be a double-layer (Photodiode + Pixel) crystal pixel architecture (2-Layer Transistor Pixel).

In addition, Apple is also preparing to introduce a new camera button on the iPhone 16 Pro series models. The shooting button, codenamed Nova, will feature capacitive buttons and force sensors, and Mark Gurman has confirmed that it will be used specifically for shooting video.

In terms of appearance, Apple’s iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will continue to use the same grade 5 titanium (Ti-6Al-4V) used in the iPhone 15 Pro. There will be no obvious changes in the overall appearance. Considering Apple’s practice, it should add a New colors.

In other aspects, Ming-Chi Kuo and Jeff Pu also claimed that the Apple iPhone 16 Pro will be equipped with the A18 Pro chip, support Wi-Fi 7, and use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X75 modem, which can achieve 5G download speeds of 7.5 Gbps.

In addition, digital blogger @Kosutami previously showed off the battery of the iPhone 16 Pro and claimed that the series battery uses graphene for heat dissipation and has a capacity of 3355 mAh. In addition, there is news that the iPhone 16 Pro will use a new battery stack design, which is expected to enable 40W wired charging.
