iPhone 15 with USB-C port to launch in 2023: Kuo

The Apple iPhone 15 could be the first of its kind to adopt the USB-C port. Yes, we are not talking about the coming iPhone but the iPhone of next year, and it will supposedly replace the Lightning port in favor of a USB-C port, according to the claims made by Ming-Chi Kuo via Twitter. He is one of the best market analysts, and his predictions often come true.

Apple has been using the proprietary Lightning port for a long time. Even when USB-C became a standard for competitive devices, Apple chose to stick with Lightning. This was a controversial decision by Apple and a lot of users were not in favor of it. But finally, Apple is changing the Lightning port with the universal and better USB-C.

Probably since 2017, similar rumors were reported before every iPhone launch, but every time, the new iPhone came with the Lightning port. Even Kuo has predicted such a few times.

But this time things are a bit different. If this prediction turns out to be real, the iPhone 14 of 2022 will be the last iPhone equipped with Apple’s Lightning port. Most of Apple’s devices have already moved on to the USB-C port. Only the entry-level iPad and AirPods use the older port besides iPhone.

This goes without saying that iPhone will benefit in many ways with the adaptation of USB-C. Charging will be faster, and have wider connectivity; especially with Apple’s own devices that have already adopted USB-C.
