As Apple prepares to move into the production and development stage of the iPhone 15 series, the company is facing some resistance. After deciding to employ the services of Chinese chipmaker Yangtze Memory Technologies Co (YMTC) the company is now getting a frown of disapproval from members of the US Senate. These members argue that sourcing chips from China are a security threat to America.
This is the same allegation that left businesses like Huawei confined to the Chinese region. Now the same fate might await business relations between Apple and Chinese chip manufacturer Yangtze Memory Technologies Co (YMTC). The accusation against the Chinese chipmaker to work with Apple on future iPhones is that they will be a tool for the Chinese Communist Party to level security attacks on iPhone users.

Other Chinese tech companies have got similar allegations, but, there has been no hard evidence, only hearsay. The segregation against Chinese tech companies is clear evidence of a trade war between the US and its counterpart. Holding Apple back from acquiring chips for the iPhone 15 series and beyond from Chinese chipmakers will only turn the spotlight on American chipmakers.
This action from the US Senate is killing the competition in the chip industry, hence promoting a market monopoly. The US Senate has requested a comprehensive public report on Chinese chip manufacturer Yangtze Memory Technologies Co (YMTC) before October 1 for security analysis. Whether Apple will be getting chips from the Chinese manufacturer will all depend on the conclusion from the US Senate.
