iPhone 15 Pro performance fears to be overtaken by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen2

which phone performance is the most powerful? If it’s a previous year, the answer may always be the latest iPhone, but in 2023, the answer may be the flagships with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen2 processors.

According to tests conducted by @Golden Reviewer on the Xiaomi 13, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor is a significant performance improvement over the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 or Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. Overall performance is up by 10%, but the core runs at the same speed as the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, so you don’t need to worry too much about battery life and heat issues.

In a tweet, @GoldenReviewer says: We’re seeing higher CPU efficiency on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor in the Xiaomi 13. Despite the 10% overall performance increase, the efficiency of the large core seems to be on par with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. On the mid-core side, the A715 is a small improvement from the previous A710 and can be considered the same as the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1.

On the other hand, the latest news says that Apple’s A17 to be launched next year will focus more on battery life improvements than processing performance. This is mainly due to the process upgrade from 5nm to 3nm, which can reduce power consumption by about 35%. Apple had previously considered adding ray tracing and other features to the A16 chip, but due to a talent drain, it ended up being a simple upgrade.
