As Apple’s fall launch approaches, rumors about the iPhone 14 series are growing. Well-known Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicts that the iPhone 14 Pro series will feature a 48-megapixel main camera. Digital blogger @Digital Gossip Station today released two photos of the rear camera module of the iPhone 14 series, the base version and the Pro version, respectively. You can see that there is almost no gap between the lenses, making full use of the module space, which is significantly larger than the previous generation.
From what is known, the iPhone 14 Pro main camera sensor size will increase to 1/1.3 inches with 1.22μm single pixel, supporting four pixels in one (12MP), the sensor may be customized for Sony.
The reason for the iPhone 14 Pro to upgrade the image module should be to follow the industry trend, after all, recording 8K of 16:9 video, at least 33 megapixels are needed. The current 200-megapixel Android flagship is about to be released, so if Apple still insists on the ancestral 12 megapixels it doesn’t seem to make sense.
With stronger imaging hardware, the price of iPhone 14 Pro must also go up. According to Anthony, a tipster, iPhone 14 Pro will be priced from $1099, which is $100 more expensive than iPhone 13 Pro.
