iPhone 14 lineup may come with a Satellite communication feature; how does it work?

Strong rumours are hovering around the internet regarding the upcoming iPhone 14 lineup which says that iPhone 14 series will come with all-new Satellite connectivity features for the first time in any smartphone. Apple is preparing for the end testing of this feature and the latest 2022 iPhones are expected to pack it into their hardware.

Satellite connectivity in iPhones; how it will work?

The business has officially confirmed that they are going to host a launch event on September 7th, 2022 to unveil the all-new 2022 iPhones. The iPhone 14 Mini, iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max are expected to launch at the event. Now, ahead of any official announcement, a strong rumour is spreading online that claims that Apple will include a new “Satellite connectivity” feature in the latest iPhone 14 series.

iPhone 14 Pro Max

According to Tim Farrar, a satellite communications specialist at the California-based research firm Telecom, Media, and Finance Associates, Apple may unveil its own satellite connectivity capability for the iPhone in collaboration with Globalstar. Globalstar has a network of low-earth orbit (LEO) satellites, and Apple is set to announce that the next iPhone will be able to use them. SpaceX, run by Elon Musk, has also recently debuted mobile satellite Internet connectivity.

The devices will have specially tuned hardware to make them compatible with the Satellite connectivity feature. This could enable iPhone 14 users to make and receive calls and messages without the requirement for a 4G or 5G cellular connection. However, there is still no official information on the same so you can take the information with a pinch of salt.
