Apple had an excellent WWDC event this year. The company announced a bunch of stuff, including the next-generation M2 chips. The M1 chips became widely popular just after their launch due to their low power consumption and high performance. After that Apple used a few modified versions of the chip like M1 Max, and M1 Pro. But this year the company is finally jumping to the next generation. At the moment, only MacBook Air and MacBook Pro are the only devices to get modified with the M2 chip. But other devices are soon to follow. The new iPad Pro model that is expected to launch this year could get the M2 treatment.
iPad Pro with M2 chip: launch timeframe
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has revealed that Apple is preparing to launch the new iPad Pro model. The launch would happen this year, either in September or in October. If this becomes true, the iPad Pro launch could coincide with the iPhone 14 series launch.

The new model of the iPad Pro is expected to come with wireless charging support and we could see a better camera system. Coming to the M2 chip. According to Apple, the new M2 chip will provide an 18% improvement in CPU performance and a 35% improvement in GPU performance. In all likelihood, three variants of the new iPad Pro will be made available to the market. The usual 11” and 12.9” models will be there. A new 14.1” model could be added to the lineup.
The iPad Pro with a 14.1” display will be the newest iPad Pro on the market. It is possible that Apple would introduce this 14-inch iPad Pro this year and it is expected to have a MiniLED display with ProMotion support.
Still, these are just speculations. It is quite possible that Apple just refreshes the available iPad Pro for this year and moves the new launch to the next year. So, let’s wait and see what happens.
