Intel’s 13th Gen Core Raptor Lake to release soon, ASUS, MSI and ASRock Z790 motherboard revealed

Intel is expected to release the 13th generation Core processors on September 28. Now major manufacturers are already warming up to the new generation of motherboards.

VideoCardz has got photos of the upcoming Z790 series motherboards from ASUS, MSI and ASRock, including the first photo of the Mini-ITX Z790 board, and the full lineup is expected to be even richer than that.

The Z790 chipset supports 8 PCIe 3.0 lanes and 20 PCIe 4.0. in addition, it has 16 PCIe 5.0 lanes and another 4 Gen4 lanes from the CPU. According to the leaked specs, the 700 series motherboards will also support more USB 3.2 Gen2x1 (10 Gbps) ports (up to 5) compared to the 600 series.

In terms of memory, the 13th generation Core series supports DDR4-3200 and DDR5-5600 JEDEC specifications, but high-end motherboards will apparently support XMP3.0 overclocking profiles, which in some cases will exceed 7000 MT/s.

i9-13900K: 8 large cores + 16 small cores, up to 5.8 GHz RWD

i7-13700K: 8 large cores + 8 small cores, up to 5.4 GHz RWD

i5-13600K: 6 large cores + 8 small cores, up to 5.1 GHz

Sources say that the 13th generation Core will have more cores and L2/L3 cache, new DDR5-5600 memory support, and DDR4-3200 memory support as well. In addition, sources say that the i3-13100 to i5-13600 models are vestigial models of the 12th generation Cores.
