Intel releases 31.0.101.4032 WHQL driver update to support Raptor Lake-S and Alder Lake-N processors

Intel released WHQL-signed driver 31.0.101.4032, adding support for Intel 65W 13th generation Raptor Lake-S desktop processors, and the new Alder Lake-N processors. This update to the driver also fixes some bugs, though it also introduces some new issues.

Highlights.

Introduced drivers for the following CPUs.

  • 13th Generation Intel® Core™ desktop processors with Intel® UHD Graphics 730 (codenamed Raptor Lake-S)
  • Intel® processors and Intel® Core™ i3 N-Series processors with Intel® UHD graphics (codenamed Alder Lake-N)

Issues fixed.

Intel® Arc™ graphics products.

  • Harvest Day 2 (Payday 2) (DX9) Flickering may occur on certain water surfaces.
  • God of War (DX11) may experience lower-than-expected performance when first launched within the main game menu.

Intel® Core™ Processor Products.

  • Battlefield 2042 (DX12)* (DX12) May experience color corruption during gameplay.
  • Watch Dogs: Legion* (DX12) Application crashes may occur during gameplay.
  • Hitman 3* (DX12) Application crashes may occur while running benchmarks.
  • Assassin’s Creed Valhalla* (DX12) may experience visual corruption when changing graphics settings.

Known issues.

Intel® Arc™ graphics products.

  • Fortnite* (DX12) Application crashes may occur at high and Epic graphics settings. It may be necessary to set the graphics settings to Medium and Nanite to Off to mitigate application crashes.
  • Diablo II: Resurrected* (DX12) may cause system instability or application crashes.
  • Warhammer 40,000: Darktide* (DX12) may cause application crashes when selecting a character.
  • A Plague Tale: Requiem* (DX12) Application freezes and crashes may occur during gameplay.
  • Conqueror’s Blade* (DX11) may be corrupted in benchmark mode. Call of Duty: Vanguard* (DX12) Shadows may be lost or corrupted during submarine missions.
  • The system may get stuck when waking up from sleep. It may be necessary to power cycle the system to recover.
  • GPU hardware acceleration may not be available for media playback and encoding in some versions of Adobe Premiere Pro.
  • Blender may become corrupted when using the Nishita Sky texture node.

Intel® Iris™ Xe MAX graphics products.

On some notebook systems using both Intel® Iris™ X e + Iris™ X e MAX devices, the driver installation may not complete successfully. A system reboot and reinstallation of the graphics driver may be required for a successful installation.

Intel® Core™ Processor Products

  • Eviscerating Shadow (Dysterra)* (DX12) may experience visual corruption during gameplay.
  • Total War: Warhammer III* (DX11) Application crashes may occur when loading battle scenes.
  • Call of Duty Warzone 2.0* (DX12) may experience corruption in certain buildings and floors during gameplay.
  • Conqueror’s Blade* (DX12) Application crashes may occur during the game launch.
  • A Plague Tale: Requiem* (DX12) Application freezes and crashes may occur during gameplay.
