Intel Pentium and Celeron brands retired, new N-series all-small-core processors debut

According to Intel official news, Intel Pentium and Intel Celeron brands are now retired, replaced by Intel processors and Intel Core i3 N series processors, the series is designed for the education sector, entry-level computing and IoT edge native applications.

Intel Processor N Series Features.

  • New energy-efficient cores (microarchitecture codename Gracemont) manufactured using Intel’s 7 processes.

Intel processors boost application performance by up to 28% and graphics performance by up to 64% compared to previous generations.

For the first time, the new Intel Core i3 N Series processors deliver up to 42% more application performance and 56% more graphics performance than Intel processors.

  • Up to 10 hours of HD video playback without recharging.
  • New AV1 decoding, high-resolution display engine, and better support for IPU and MIPI cameras.
  • Superfast Intel Wi-Fi 6E (Gig+) and Bluetooth 5.2 for enhanced connectivity.
  • Flexible memory (LPDDR5, DDR5 / DDR4) and storage (UFS / SSD / eMMC) options.

Intel says these processors are tailored for educational users and consumers, balancing their demand for value for money with their need for a high-quality experience in areas such as outstanding performance, video collaboration and productivity. Eco-partners such as Acer, Dell, HP, Lenovo and Asus are expected to launch more than 50 models across ChromeOS and Windows operating systems in 2023.
