Intel Lunar Lake processors unveiled at SiSoftware, claimed power efficiency

Relative to the Meteor Lake and Raptor Lake Refresh, Intel’s Lunar Lake processor has been relatively low-profile, this year, when the Meteor Lake flowed out of the SiSoftware test, and the current Intel Lunar Lake processor benchmarks have also flowed out of SiSoftware. SiSoftware benchmarks have also flowed out.

It is reported that the “flagship version” of the Lunar Lake processor may have four performance cores and four efficiency cores, with a maximum frequency of 3.9GHz, a base frequency of 1GHz (sample chip), and 17W power consumption.

While the 4+4 core count may seem disappointing for a flagship CPU on a contemporary mobile platform, it’s not the core count that’s key to Lunar Lake, says techradar.

Lunar Lake will look to deliver relative high performance in a low-power range in order to drive everyday computing tasks in very thin and light laptops and become a serious rival to the Apple Silicon.

The media also believes that the fact that sample processors are currently being benchmarked suggests that Lunar Lake’s launch could be brought forward.

We previously expected Lunar Lake to launch in late 2024 or early 2025, right after Arrow Lake. But other rumors have hinted that it could launch at the same time as Arrow Lake, which would be later in 2024, and Lunar Lake's benchmarks seem to support this theory to some extent.

Based on this, the media claims that about a year from now, users can expect to buy Arrow Lake processors and thin and light laptops powered by Lunar Lake chips.
