Intel is developing Raptor Lake Refresh, AMD Ryzen 7000X3D / APU will be released next year

According to up owner @ECSM_Official, Intel and AMD will both be releasing new CPUs next year.

Wait until the first half of 2023, and we should see Intel launch the Core i9-13900KS, Intel’s first 6GHz processor. Not surprisingly, this will be the strongest consumer-grade CPU in the 13th generation Core.

He also mentioned that Intel will launch the Raptor Lake Refresh model in the middle and late third quarter of 2023, which should be August/September. It also uses the LGA1700 slot, and the main frequency will be 0.1~0.2GHz higher than the current version of Raptor Lake, but the core quantity remains unchanged.

In addition, the 3D cache model of the AMD Ryzen 7000 series will also be released in the first half of next year, probably a little later than the Core i9-13900KS, and is expected to be in April/May/June. He mentioned that according to his sources, the current Ryzen 7000X3D processor is only available in 6-core/8-core models, which are yet to be announced by AMD.

Regarding the AMD A620 chipset, he said that it may not be released until the second quarter, and the A620 will still limit the overclocking function of the CPU, and then AMD will launch an APU for the desktop platform later, but this generation of APU is only It will support DDR5 4800 memory, which means that the upper limit of nuclear display performance is not as high as everyone imagined, but it does not rule out that there will be enhanced models. At present, only 6-core/8-core models are known, and there is no retail meaning either. At least not initially.

Regarding Intel’s future roadmap, he said that Intel will launch two processes, Intel 4 and Intel 20A in 2024, plus small chips that integrate TSMC’s N3, N5, and N6 foundries. Similarly, the next generation of Arrow Lake and Meteor Lake belongs to the 14th generation family, all of which are modular in design. Some desktop/mobile platforms will exist at the same time, and eventually, there will be a more chaotic situation, but the difference between high-end and low-end is still obvious.

Combining previous revelations and leaked intelligence, Intel will replace the socket in 2024, most likely with the rumored LGA1851. Unsurprisingly, Meteor Lake, Arrow Lake, and even the follow-up Panther Lake are all competing against the AM5-based AMD Zen5 platform in the second half of 2024.

It is said that the new generation of Meteor Lake will combine the three processes of Intel 4 + TSMC N5 + N6, and the maximum is limited to 6P + 16E configuration, while Arrow Lake will combine the three processes of TSMC N3 + N5 + N6, and the high-end models will use Intel 20A. That is to say, some models of ARL may be completely manufactured by TSMC. Of course, he also said that it is only for reference, and it is not yet possible to fully confirm the accuracy.
