Source uzzi38 recently followed up on the Anandtech forum, shared a slide information about Intel’s next-generation Arrow Lake-S CPU.
Intel Arrow Lake-S is the next-generation desktop CPU platform that will use the new LGA-1851 socket and is expected to be available in the second half of 2024.
Intel Arrow Lake-S is expected to have a 5% improvement in single-threaded workloads and a 15% improvement in multi-threading compared to Raptor Lake Refresh.
Note: Igor’s LAB also shared information on these increases this July, but the slides shared some new information.
The next generation of desktops and mobiles feature a new microarchitecture with a performance core called Lion Cove and an efficiency core called Skymont, and these new families will also utilize the Intel 20A process node with the Alchemist-based Xe-LPG architecture.
While the CPU architecture may not deliver major performance gains, the GPUs are expected to be at least twice as fast as the Xe-LP architecture used in the Alder / Raptor Lake CPUs.
The initial Arrow Lake-S series is expected to have a similar core configuration to Raptor Lake, with 8 P-cores and 16 E-cores. It was recently announced that Intel plans to launch a Refresh at a later date, which will increase the number of E-cores by a factor of 1.
