Intel officially announced on January 3 the N series processors for entry-level computing, up to 8 cores and 8 threads, 32EU core specifications.

The N-series processors in Intel’s press release include the 4-core N100 to the 8-core i3-N305, but the author Lone City noticed on Intel’s website that Intel also quietly released two models with lower specifications, the N50 and N97, respectively.

The N97 processor is 4 cores and 4 threads, with a maximum of 3.6GHz, 6MB cache, 12W TDP, and 24EU core graphics.

According to Intel officials, Intel N series processors use Intel’s new Gracemont CPU micro-architecture with 7 process steps, with options for 4 to 8 energy-efficient cores to deliver superior performance per watt. Among them, the Core i3N 8-core model delivers up to 42 percent better overall application system performance and up to 24 percent better Web browsing performance.
