Intel 14th generation Meteor Lake processors change naming scheme

It was previously discovered that the Intel Core Ultra 5 1003H processor has appeared in the “Ash of the Singularity” benchmark database, which may represent a new product line, at least for phones. Platform, the news caused concern on the Internet.

Bernard Fernandes, Intel’s director of global communications, responded late this evening to confirm that the upcoming Meteor Lake processors will change the way they are named.

 Yes, we are changing the brand as we are at an inflection point in our customer roadmap in preparation for the upcoming Meteor Lake processors. We will provide more details on these exciting changes in the coming weeks.

It is unclear whether the Meteor Lake processor will change all i9 / i7 / i5 / i3 to Ultra 9/7/5/3, and the whistleblower Bionic_squash said that the products of the Raptor Lake Refresh architecture will not be changed to the “Ultra” name.

Intel announced in its Q1 2023 earnings conference that it is accelerating mass production of its 14th-generation Meteor Lake Core processors, which are scheduled to launch in the second half of this year.

Meteor Lake will be mass-produced using the Intel 4 process node, and its transistor density (transistor-density) and performance per watt (performance / Watt) are said to be comparable to TSMC’s N5 and N4 series nodes.

It is worth noting that AMD has made significant changes to its mobile processor naming last year, accommodating as many as three Zen architecture and two RDNA architecture products under one series.
